It echos faintly through the crawl spaces, halls and walls of the Aposolith. I think the artist is Johnny Cash. When I get quiet enough to hear it, my blood boils. The Aposolith is a womb of sorts. My own universe they told me as they hurled my sedated body sealed inside of this space suite onto the floor of it. Hundreds of wind turbines kept the throbbing cloud of moths at bay. They swirled about the currents of wind straining against them. Guilty, I am guilty of things no worse than everyone else. Yet, some how whatever crime the Fates had committed against the natural order of things had marked me. One of the signs, ... consequences of the marking was that moths no longer sought the moon or light. They sought me. The Aposolith is impossibly huge, oval and smooth but was created in a little over a week. The Fates and Consortium used a technique afforded them by the crime. They grew the Aposolith. They later used the same technique to make smaller more fragile ships launching a select few of the Fates into space they called them the . Johnny Cash again whatever is playing that song when I find it I plan to smash it to pieces. I mostly keep to the room they put me in when they first through me in here. It has a porthole and plenty of supplies. I am afraid if I go wandering too far away from my room I will never find it again. Sleep begins to creep into the base of my eyes and a moth lights on the transparent shield of my space helmet. A moth... Oh no I rush across to the main control panel and activate the emergency seals on the ship nothing gets in I tell myself. I activate the porthole lights and I realize that the sun I always keep my port pointed towards is obstructed by a mass of moths. The moths have found me. They broke earths orbit and have found me. Dam the Fates. I bet the Consortium forced them off the planet. How do they survive in the vacuum? Then I notice that there are substantially more moths in the room. They fill the spaces where the air used to be and pin my arms to the sides of my body. They fill the room a flood of brown and green wings fills my vision. How did they even get in. Did the Aposolith let them in?! Then I felt it, acceleration?! The ship is moving and it is moving fast. I have no way of knowing how fast or long we were moving. The trauma of the ship accelerating so quickly made me black out. When I came too the moths were gone all that was left of them was dust thick in the air. Then I noticed it, the sun was gone and in its place was a densely packed planetary system. Planets, moons, stars suns all cradled in some kind of nebulae that gave off a turquoise and orange light much like the aurora on earth. It was breath taking I nearly weeped at the beauty of it all. Then I heard it again. Just this one time I enjoy it. > O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder, > > Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made; > > I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, > > Thy power throughout the universe displayed.
