Lovecraft](https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/9494.H_P_Lovecraft) My rating: [4 of 5 stars](https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/866755699) This was my second trip into the world of H.P. Lovecraft. It was a fantastic look into the impossible speculation about things that we can not fully understand yet are shown to be no less real. I loved the way the book is presented as part journal, part confession and all warning. The style of telling the story is one I have come to love. The information presented in the story left me looking online at more about the various creatures and mythos that are presented in the story. What really intrigued me was the way the story flowed. At first it could have been any other adventure novel, lost in the frozen wastes risking everything for the research. But then the caverns open up and what lies within thaws. You get the feeling that the characters could not have chosen another path even though the knowing of what they find drives them to the brink of madness.
